Tips for growing long hair

I've decided to grow my hair long about 7 months ago, and I wanted to do it the right way, the healthy way. So as usually I went to google for tips on growing long healthy hair and I thought I would share with you some of the things I found and have been using that I think have been working for me.

Tips #1

Stop washing your hair everyday! Yes washing your hair everyday seems like a good thing, it makes it feel clean and soft but do you notice that it gets greasy the next day. That's not because you have extra dirty hair and have to wash it everyday, it's because your drying out your scalp and it thinks that it needs to produce more oil to get rid of the dryness. If you start to train your hair and get it use to being washed less you will notice that the fast producing oil will slow down and you won't have to wash for 3 to 4 days.

P.s. That doesn't mean you have to stop bathing/showering everyday just put your hair into a bun or into a shower cap when you don't want to wash your hair that day.

How to make your own sugar lip scurb

Don't you hate having chapped lips, flakes coming off and your lips start breaking and bleeding. No matter how much chap stick you use it seems to never go away, that's how it is for me. If you're in the same boat you know how I feel, it's painful. So I did some research to find a solution and just about everything I read mentioned lip scrubs. I've heard of them before but never thought anything of it so I never went to go looking for it. I live in a very small town that has next to nothing, we don't even have a Forever 21! So it was very disappointing when I couldn't find a lip scrub in any of our stores. Then I got the idea to try make one myself, I love DIY's they're fun to do, cheap (cause all the stuff you need is usually already in your kitchen), and you know what your putting in it, so no bad chemicals (I think). This is very easy to do and you don't need to many ingredients.

So what you'll need:

Sugar or brown sugar- you can use either or half in half (I used regular white sugar)

Honey or olive oil, coconut oil- your choice you can use any of them (I used honey)

Optional- Vanilla extract
You don't really need it it just makes the scrub taste and smell better (In this recipe I didn't put it in but feel free to do so if you want)

And a container to put it in- I stole a to-go pill container from my mom (Shhhh don't tell her)

And that's it!

For the love of Flowers

Today's post will be some pictures I've taken of flowers from my garden or random ones I've seen while I was walking around. I've recently found that I have a love for gardening, it's just a relaxing way to get out of my head as I am the type of person that stresses about nothing and worries about everything, and gardening just gives me a nice sense of calm. It's also a fun way to spend time with my dog and gives both of us some light exercise which is a good bonus.

These where some chairs that we got, they were every rusty but we spray painted them and now I just love them.
